Advent week two - PEACE
Isaiah prophesied about the birth of Jesus using four very specific descriptors.
“And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 9:6
Jesus came to the earth for many reasons, but one of them was to give us peace. He facilitates peace between God and man, and allows us to walk with him every step of the way.
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” John 14:27
Jesus does not give to us the way the world does. The world is chaotic and unforgiving, but Jesus is full of peace and patience.
Let’s remember who our prince is, and find peace in him.

Advent week one - HOPE
Advent is a season of anticipating the celebration of Jesus; both what he has already done and what he will do.
“Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel.”
Isaiah 7:14
God always knew he was going to send his son to earth to show us the way and set us an example. Jesus would become our newfound hope.
“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead”
1 Peter 1:3
We get to have a living hope because of Jesus’ resurrection from the dead; a hope placed not in things of this earth, but placed in things above.
As we enter advent season let us remember the eternal hope we have in Jesus, and celebrate it!

“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me…Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” -Matthew 25:35-40
