Special Needs Ministry

Special Needs Ministry

Denver Church of Christ Special Needs MinistryTwo are better than one,
because they have a good return for their labor:
If either of them falls down,
one can help the other up.
But pity anyone who falls
and has no one to help them up.
Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm.
But how can one keep warm alone?
Though one may be overpowered,
   two can defend themselves.
A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.
Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 (NIV)

Do you have a family member with a physical, mental or emotional disability/limitation? So how do you research where or how to get your needs met? If you receive one type of aid, do you limit help in other areas? Are there government funds available, medical insurance, support groups or education that can help through this process? In most cases the answer is yes. The issue is getting to it or finding someone with experience in dealing with these issues that can make the road a little straighter or a little smoother.

The Special Needs Ministry is here to help. Our mission is to meet the special needs of those disciples with, or who, have family members with special physical or mental needs by providing information and training on how to get aid, special assistance, or navigate the gauntlet of bureaucracy that comes with these needs. This service team gathers from personal experiences, education, and research to develop a repository for this information. Individually we may not have the answers, let alone the time or strength to find them, but together we can accomplish much.
