Deacons Appointed (Jan 2010)

Dear Brothers and Sisters of the Denver Church of Christ,

"Deacons, likewise are to be men worthy of respect, sincere, not indulging in much wine, and not pursuing dishonest gain.  They must keep hold of the deep truths of the faith with a clear conscience. They must first be tested; and then if there is nothing against them, let them serve as deacons."   1 Timothy 3:8-10 (NIV).

As we start this new year together, it is our desire to appoint deacons in order to help us build Jesus’ church as strong as possible.  Deacons will serve for a period of two years, and will not only serve as spiritual examples to the flock, but will also each lead a Service Team of disciples.  Service Teams will have the goal of involving, inspiring and integrating a group of volunteers toward a need-meeting venture within the church and the community around us.  While there will also be Service Teams that are not led by deacons, the deacons we appoint will lay the foundation of this new level of small groups in the church.

After months of prayer, consideration and input from you, we have appointed the following men to serve as deacons:

Northwest Region Deacon Candidates:

Tony Baumann, John Chisholm, Wally Dague, Jeff Hageman, Ponphet Homchanh, Leif Langnes, Mark Linenberger, Kevin Massey, Jim Nelson, Mark Priday, Marty Prinzler, Mark Shelley, Art Sickler, Tom Snyder, Greg Stanek, Louis Staggs

Southeast Region Deacon Candidates:

Dave Amend, Bryan Austin, Randy Beverly, Gordon Blasius, Larry Burton, Tony Chukes, Alex Haley, John Hanson, Jim Heese, Mike Holguin, Matt Kuchar, John Kurth, Scott Mediavilla, Ed Partch, Andre Pearson, Tim Sumerlin, Barry Underwood

 In Christ,

The Evangelists and Elders of the Denver Church

2010 Theme - Even Greater Things

'I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.' John 14:12 (NIV)
