But blessed are your eyes because they see, and your ears because they hear. For I tell you the truth, many prophets and righteous men longed to see what you see but did not see it, and to hear what you hear but did not hear it. Matthew 13:15-17

Throughout the Bible, God has sent certain people on specific missions to fulfill His purpose in all the world.
For a long time now-to this very day-you have not deserted your brothers but have carried out the mission the LORD your God gave you. Joshua 22:3
Samuel said, "Although you were once small in your own eyes, did you not become the head of the tribes of Israel? The LORD anointed you king over Israel. And he sent you on a mission..." 1 Samuel 15:17 - 19
I, even I, have spoken; yes, I have called him. I will bring him, and he will succeed in his mission. Isaiah 48:15
But the word of God continued to increase and spread. When Barnabas and Saul had finished their mission, they returned from Jerusalem, taking with them John, also called Mark. Acts 12:24 - 25
We are preparing for a very special opportunity in the Denver Church of Christ: to raise $140,000 that will be designated specifically to help God's chosen people carry out his mission in Southeast Asia, Colorado, and in Fort Collins.

On March 5th, we celebrate International Women's Day. To commemorate this day, the US is having a one-night only film called "A Powerful Noise". It is meant to be a catalyst for change as well as a compelling reminder of global poverty and injustice. As women and girls, we have the power and ability to make a difference in our societies.
Viewers will take a peek into the lives of three women: a young widow in Vietnam, a mother in Bosnia and a matriarch in Mali. This will be a LIVE event, as movie theatres across the country will turn into community forums with experts and celebrities giving their personal insight into the problems and solutions - facing women and girls in the global fight against poverty.
The above title is a quotation from Martin Luther King Jr. This statement is a tenant of his belief system that has transformed our nation's outlook on service.
"They will know you are disciples by your love." (John 13:35).
This quotation, from Jesus, is one of the tenants of our Christian belief system. In January, disciples throughout the United States turned out to show our love for God and for those in need by serving our communities on Martin Luther King Jr. Service Day, combining Dr. King's vision with Christian love. It was an encouraging day in Denver as over 200 volunteers spent the morning handing out fire safety information to over 8000 households. According to the Corporation for National and Community Service, this year's Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service was the most expansive since the holiday became a day of service 14 years ago. More than 13,000 projects took place across the country and it is estimated that over one million volunteers participated in MLK Day. The CNCS highlighted the combined effort of HOPE worldwide and the American Red Cross, who joined together "to engage volunteers in 25 cities to canvass door-to-door and provide fire safety information to thousands of residents".
